This week:
- I heard back from the refuse team about the bins on Westgate Road. I’d asked for an update on the plans to relocate bins to the back lane. This would reduce fly-tipping around the bins and improve accessibility. The team will be contacting residents to confirm who has access to the back lanes so that bins. Once they have that information they can look at moving the bins.
- I was contacted by a resident who was concerned about unsafe tyres on some Neuron e-scooters. While, it’s worrying that this happened, Neuron dealt with it quickly and have now improved their checks. If you spot anything that you are concerned about, please let me know.
- I raised residents’ concerns that changes to bus timetables due to events on the Quayside are not properly communicated.
- I continued discussions with the licensing authority and applicants about licensed premises. I am concerned that the process does not work well for residents. I would like to see a project like Westminster’s Licensing Advice Project in Newcastle.
