This week I:
- Submitted two questions for December’s council meeting
– A written question on the ADZs
How much money has the council received from the ADZ schemes; how much does it expect to receive overall; what restrictions, if any, are there on how it is used; what has the money been spent on so far; and what plans, if any, are there for using it in the future.
– An oral question on the Customer Commitment
Cabinet recently agreed a new ‘Customer Commitment’ as part of a ‘benchmark for delivering services’. Do Councillor Frew and his cabinet colleagues agree that residents are stakeholders in the city as well as customers? If so, what commitments are they making to ensure that residents are fully informed about council decisions and decision-making processes? - Was in contact with the the events team about the New Year’ Eve events on the Quayside and the potential impact on local residents. They think that it will only affect people who live on the Quayside and not the adjoining streets.
- Asked why the planning application for Crown Buildings – which has just been approved – was decided by an officer when residents had asked for it to go to the Planning Committee. I was told that the chair and vice-chair had decided this wasn’t necessary.
- Contacted Places for People about an alarm that was going off in one of their properties and disturbing neighbours.
- Asked the Environmental Health team for their view on the potential noise impact of the Davey’s licensing application.
- Wrote to residents on the Cambridge Street estate to offer my support with any housing issues.
