This week I:

• Raised concerns about Newcastle City Council’s policy on decoration after repairs. The council expects residents to pay for this but, according to Shelter, landlords should pay.
• Supported residents concerned about ASB around their homes.
• Contacted the Community Safety Team about ongoing problems with people sleeping in an underpass. This isn’t safe for them and it’s leading to litter and environmental health issues.
• Objected to a further extension to the opening hours of Whiskey Down, the lap-dancing club in the Bigg Market.
• Contacted the Chief Constable and PCC about incitements to racist violence that I witnessed at the weekly far right demonstration on the Blue Carpet.
